In 1982 the great sage, scholar and yogi, Swami Venkatesananda, gave fourteen consecutive weekly talks on his favourite scripture, the "inspiring though not extremely popular text called The Yoga-Vasistha"

Captured on video tape by students at his ashram in Fremantle, Western Australia, these are vintage Vekatesa and were to be his last talks. It is fitting that the subject was his favourite scripture, the "sublime" Yoga-Vasistha.

The patchy quality of the amateur recordings and the fact that a few of the talks run over the requisite hour take little away from the luminosity of these talks.
